How can they possibly both work and make sense?

If you do the natal chart analysis, transits, progressions etc. For example, in one house system one has a stellium in the 12th house and in another it is in the 1st house. I have heard many astrologers say that “I use this particular house system, but they all work.” To me this sounds wishy washy and I am wondering if you could help me understand how they could all possibly work.
